The beginnings of the university date back to 1951: the establishment of the Evening School of Engineering - the first higher school in Bydgoszcz. In 1964 it was already Higher School of Engineering (Wyższa Szkoła Inżynierska) and after next 10 years - University of Technology and Agriculture (Akademia Techniczno-Rolnicza).
1 September 2021 marked the beginning of a new chapter in the history of the largest technical university in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region.
University of Technology and Life Sciences was transformed into Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology (Politechnika Bydgoska im. J. i J. Śniadeckich).
Bydgoszcz University of Science and Technology has been educating engineers since the very beginning of its existence. At present, the educational offer includes 35 fields of studies at eight faculties.
A distinctive feature of Politechnika Bydgoska are fields of study with a practical profile, with the majority of classes, laboratory classes, extended internship periods, conducted in close cooperation with companies - leaders of various industries in the region and in Poland.
